NBA All-Star weekend has come and gone. We are now entering the final half of the season. The Knicks have had a very up and down season til this point. They probably couldn’t have started the season any worse. This lead to the Coach Fizdale firing. For whatever reason, interim head coach Michael Miller has gotten more effort out of the squad and actually got the Knicks on a rare win streak heading into the break. They picked up wins against good quality teams as well. Beating the Pacers, Magic, and Pistons. The rest of the season is basically a try-out for the many young players on the roster. This might be Kevin Knox’s last chance to prove he can play in this league. He has seen a significant minutes drop from last season and his shooting percentages have dropped tremendously. This last half of the season will not be fun for us Knicks fan, but at least we can get some much needed clarity on some of these young players that the Knicks need to decide to keep or stick with for the next season.
The Nets have had a very up and down season as well. Coming in with much higher expectations than the Knicks they currently hold the number 7 playoff spot in the east. Kyrie Irving has looked awesome WHEN HE PLAYS. He hasn’t played too much over the course of the season, and got injured again right before the break. If he can get healthy, look for this Nets team to make a run and potentially move up a couple spots in the east. Either way this team has a lot of potential and when KD comes back they will be a top team in the east.
